Electrical work at Pigeon Lake.

Cabins, seasonal properties and year round homes around the lake, where damp, freeze cycles and part time occupancy all work against the wiring.

Lake properties

Seasonal use is hard on electrical.

Lake properties age differently. A cabin that sits closed and unheated for months, then gets opened up and run hard for a season, puts stress on wiring that a continuously occupied house never sees. Add damp, freeze and thaw cycles, outdoor circuits, and outbuildings that were wired in stages over the years, and you get a specific set of problems.

The other constant around the lake is hot tubs, which are worth being fussy about. Water, an outdoor location and a heavy continuous load mean GFCI protection, disconnect placement and conductor sizing all matter more than usual. We do those including the pad.

Excellent service and fair price. Fit my small job into his busy schedule when everyone else was at least 2 weeks out. Explained everything and was super thorough. Will be my goto from now on.

Out here it is hard to get professional work at this calibre without paying insane travel fees for someone to come out from Leduc or Edmonton.

Before you call

Pigeon Lake questions.

Yes, including the pad. Hot tubs need GFCI protection, a disconnect within sight at the required distance from the water, and conductors sized for that specific unit. Outdoors at a lake property the run usually needs to be buried and rated accordingly.

It is worth it. Months of freeze and thaw, damp, and rodent activity can all affect wiring that was fine when you closed up. A check before you energise everything is far cheaper than discovering the problem by tripping a breaker or worse.

Yes. Feeds out to outbuildings around the lake are common work. The conductors need to be rated for burial at the correct depth, and near water there are additional protection requirements that get factored into the design rather than discovered at inspection, when correcting a completed buried run is expensive.

Yes. Workmanship is guaranteed for two years. Hardware usually carries its own manufacturer warranty on the part itself, but the labour to remove and replace a faulty component is charged separately. We tell you which applies before the work goes ahead.
