Level 2

EV chargers on a dedicated circuit.

Level 2 charging, load calculated against your existing service so the charger does not nuisance trip every time the dryer starts.

How we work

The charger is easy. The service is the question.

Installing a Level 2 charger is straightforward. Working out whether your house can actually carry it is the part that matters. A charger is a large continuous load, and adding one to a service that is already close to capacity is how you end up with breakers tripping whenever a couple of big appliances run at the same time.

So we start with a load calculation on the existing service rather than assuming it will be fine. If there is capacity, we run a dedicated circuit sized for the charger and put the disconnect where it belongs. If there is not, we tell you before you have bought anything, and a panel upgrade or sub-panel usually solves it. Either way you know the real number up front.

Best electrician I have worked with! Out here it is hard to get professional work at this calibre without paying insane travel fees for someone to come out from Leduc or Edmonton. Everything was done to code and done well.

Before you call

EV charging questions.

That is the first thing we check. A charger is a large continuous load, so we calculate it against your existing service before anything gets ordered. Many homes are fine. Some need a panel upgrade first, and it is much better to know that beforehand.

Yes. Level 2 charging draws heavily for hours at a time and must be on its own properly sized circuit. Sharing that circuit with anything else is how you get nuisance tripping halfway through a charge, and it is not code compliant regardless of whether it appears to work.

Yes, though it usually involves a feed out to the garage and sometimes a sub-panel once it is there. On acreage properties that run is often underground. We size the feed for the charger plus whatever else the garage needs to run.

Yes. Workmanship is guaranteed for two years. Hardware usually carries its own manufacturer warranty on the part itself, but the labour to remove and replace a faulty component is charged separately. We tell you which applies before the work goes ahead.
